""Our
institution is none other than everything that contains this sublime name:
Adoratrice-Repairer"
We are the
Sisters Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we are a family
raised up by God in a particular moment of history through Saint Maria Cristina
Brando, to expiate the sins that are committed against the Eucharist and to
implore the conversion of sinners.
The
Institute of Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in Mugnano di
Napoli bases its daily activities, choices and religious mission on the
teachings and history of the Foundress Mother Maria Cristina Brando. In 1878
the Mother founded the Congregation of Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the
Blessed Sacrament, a religious institution of Pontifical Right, an institute which,
despite the severe economic hardships of its origins, found fertile ground in
the town of Casoria (NA). The religious institute obtained papal approval on
July 20, 1903.
Our
vocation and our mission are rooted in the Eucharistic mystery. The grace of
vocation, which brings us into the same sacrificial oblation of Master Jesus,
and associates us with the redemptive activity of the Priest and Victim,
characterizes our spiritual identity that identifies us with the journey of
holiness and perfection in love. We live our lives in the light of the
Eucharist, with ardent faith and love towards Jesus mystically but really
present in the Blessed Sacrament.
The
Eucharist is the heart, the life, the reason for being of our Congregation. Our
life has its fulcrum in the Eucharist, celebrated sacrifice and adored
sacrament.
"The
most loving Jesus desires compensation (expiation) from the many insults his
most sacred Heart receives in the Sacrament of Love"
(S. Maria Cristina Brando)
