Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

Congregation of the Sisters

""Our institution is none other than everything that contains this sublime name: Adoratrice-Repairer"

We are the Sisters Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, we are a family raised up by God in a particular moment of history through Saint Maria Cristina Brando, to expiate the sins that are committed against the Eucharist and to implore the conversion of sinners.
The Institute of Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament in Mugnano di Napoli bases its daily activities, choices and religious mission on the teachings and history of the Foundress Mother Maria Cristina Brando. In 1878 the Mother founded the Congregation of Expiatory Victims of Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, a religious institution of Pontifical Right, an institute which, despite the severe economic hardships of its origins, found fertile ground in the town of Casoria (NA). The religious institute obtained papal approval on July 20, 1903.
Our vocation and our mission are rooted in the Eucharistic mystery. The grace of vocation, which brings us into the same sacrificial oblation of Master Jesus, and associates us with the redemptive activity of the Priest and Victim, characterizes our spiritual identity that identifies us with the journey of holiness and perfection in love. We live our lives in the light of the Eucharist, with ardent faith and love towards Jesus mystically but really present in the Blessed Sacrament.
The Eucharist is the heart, the life, the reason for being of our Congregation. Our life has its fulcrum in the Eucharist, celebrated sacrifice and adored sacrament.
"The most loving Jesus desires compensation (expiation) from the many insults his most sacred Heart receives in the Sacrament of Love"

(S. Maria Cristina Brando)

The New Identity

Letting ourselves be provoked by the love of the immolated Lamb who offers his life as redemption for men, we live our existence in adoring contemplation and reparative action. Through the evangelical counsels we commit ourselves to live in growing confirmation to Christ, to the point of taking part in his Easter fruitfulness, participating in his sufferings to complete in our flesh what is lacking in Christ's sufferings, in favor of his body which is the Church >.
"If we do not aflame with love for God, if we do not show ourselves to be all fire, if we do not show with actions that there is true love in us, how can our heart stand to bow down ourselves there, at the foot of the altar and ask the Lord to repair for the other actions? "
(S. Maria Cristina)

Our Life According to the Spirit

"The main purpose of the institute is the remedy to the insults that the Sacred Heart of Jesus receives in the Holy Sacrament, especially from the souls consecrated to Him."
Mother Maria Cristina left us the "victim expiatory" as a special note of the charism: "We must be de facto victims, to the point of wanting to give our lives for Jesus". In the logic of love-gift, avoiding all forms of pain and pietism, we enjoy love in the nuptial marriage vows of the Eucharist, happy with the inherited fate.
Following the example of the Foundress, sensitive to the ingratitudeand unfaithfulness that Jesus the Sacrament receives from men, we offer our existence to witness, with adoration and apostolate, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
"We are Victims, it is up to us to remedy the offenses that Jesus receives. We ask Lord for light and forgiveness for so many poor blind people who are striding along the path of sin. Let us console Jesus with our fervor, with internal and external mortification and above all with constant prayer "(Santa Maria Cristina).
